Last Thursday, September 13, the tasting of VIP Private Collection premium wines was held at the restaurant of the Royal Park Club Hotel. Those wines have been known to connoisseurs for quite a while - they are the winners of multiple awards at prestigious international wine competitions. And now those wines have been presented and made available to broader much audience, making it possible for the experts and connoisseurs of Moldovan wines to enjoy their immaculate classical taste and to assess the winemaker’s skills and creative approach.
The event was very enlightening - the guests were tasting wines, mastering the skills of assessing the wine quality by its nose, palate and color, sharing their impressions and appraising the wines.
The guests assessed very positively the Albastrele range whites - Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc, whereas Albastrele Pinot Noir rose was a pleasant surprise - because few people are aware of the fact that many rose wines are made of red grape varieties according to special techniques. The key requirement to the winemaker producing rose wines is to achieve the aroma of caramel and the Turkish Delight notes in taste. Pinot Noir features all the above qualities; this wine has an intensive pink color in perfect balance with its bouquet and palate. The description developed by the guests for the Legenda range mature reds Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot as well Pinot Noir was quite concise - the immaculate quality.
However, the highest praise went to the sophisticated classical sparkling brut Cuvee Aleksandr and the exquisite powerful Amaro de la Valea Perjei - the Amarone-style wine with intensive ruby color and complex nose combining the notes of fresh ripe fruits, plum jam, morocco leather, vanilla and spices. Those wines are a perfect implementation of the producer’s philosophy - Vinum lege artis (Wine after the rules of art). Amaro is our special and unique product. Its exclusive nose and palate are the result of the winemaker’s extensive expertise and knowledge of the special traditional Italian winemaking approaches as well as grape treatment and procession techniques.
