On November 9-10, 60 leading experts and wine tasters from all over the globe were assessing 350 samples of sparkling wines in the small city of Dijon, Burgundy (France), which were submitted for the international competition “Effervescents du Monde 2006”. The samples had different fates: 24 excellent wines were awarded gold medals and 93 samples – silver medals.

Obviously, the country of origin dominating at that competition was France with its universally known skilled makers of sparkling wines. The French wines were in the vast majority among the winners. BUT… the sparkling wine “CUVEE ALEXANDR 2004” arriving from the small Moldova also managed to touch the hearts of the reputable jury.

“CUVEE ALEXANDR”, a brilliant and festive sparkling wine created by the winemakers of Acorex Wine Holding according to the classical “methode champenoise” technique, was awarded with a silver medal.

The archive file: Cuvee Aleksandr, a classical brut sparkling wine, produces after the classical technique has been steadily winning awards at the international tasting competitions for two years.

There is not so much time left to the Holy Christmas and New Year Celebrations, where a bottle of sparkling wine is a traditional element.
